The scope of my creative work has varied over the years, encompassing several career paths and varied opportunities. The most recent watercolor paintings reflect the transition from abstractions to forms of realism, focusing on the beauty of my surroundings in the Pacific Northwest, and ever continuing explorations in form, color, mood, and light.
My artistic process is strongly influenced by what brings me joy, and breathes passion and meaning into my life and heart. Using watercolor, I try to capture a moment in time, an interpretation or record of fleeting beauty or emotion, be it the transparency of an orange red poppy petal illuminated by the first sun rays of a spring morning in a city garden or icy shards of winter frost sparkling in the meadows on the north shore of Lake Quinault, when wispy tendrils of fog rise revealing a tender moment in time, awash in color, gratitude, and hope.
